Agricultural Applications

Drip irrigation is the method which water particles and fertilizers are given to soil surface or subsoil (to plant root area) as little but continuous flow through drippers. With this method, water is carried to each plant equally with a wide pipe system. Irrigation water can be applied to the land surface from one center through drippers or from drippers located very close to each other or from tubes with continuous and equal distanced holes. The main purpose is ensuring a constant soil surface that compensates the transpiration loss of the plants adequately. For this reason, drip irrigation is based on a principle idea to irrigate only the root area of the plant and keeping the soil moisture around optimum levels.
